Chili Guaro

We found this award winning secret ingredient Chili Guaro at The Beer Factory in Escazu.  I absolutely love the vibe in this place.   This drink inspired me to go on a mission to find the BEST Chili Guaro in Costa Rica.  Since this is a secret recipe .. Ill share the base of what these shots are made of & some tips on what I feel makes this one the best.

Guaro is a liquor made in many places in Latin America. A clear liquid distilled from sugar cane juices, it has a slightly sweeter taste than comparable liquors. It is traditionally 60 proof or 30% alcohol, although recently 70 proof and 80 proof versions are produced. The name "guaro" came from Central America.

Cacique Guaro is a sugar cane-based liquor of high purity and is the best-selling distilled spirit in Costa Rica. It is known as "Costa Rican liqueur."  As it has a neutral taste, guaro can be consumed pure or combined with any natural or artificial mixing.

BASE INGREDIENTS

Cacique Guaro

Tomato Juice/ V8 Juice/ Bloody Mary Mix (In some recipes this is omitted)

Sour Orange/ Lemon Juice

Hot Sauce/ Tobasco

Pepper

Salt

INSTRUCTIONS

Add all ingredients to a bowl and gently stir.

**It's usually made a pitcher at a time so shots are ready to go**

**Chili Guaro is almost always served in a salted shot glass or pepper (My favorite is Himalayan Salt)**

So far on my Chili Guaro mission I've found a few close ties for 2nd. What makes me feel this one is the best is the perfect balance between flavor & spice.

The Secret is in the hot sauce ?
